Electric Sheep's Futurekind AI Fellowship
This is a one-of-a-kind, 12-week learning, building & professional development journey. It takes you from AI-curious, to AI-for-Good power-user, immersing you in the rapidly developing intersection of AI & animal protection, arming you with knowledge, skills, project mentorship and certifications to accelerate your impact and boost your career.
Here’s what you’ll experience:
The immersion block (weeks 1–6) introduces participants to current and emerging AI applications with implications for animals, such as precision livestock farming, decoding animal communication, and AI-powered advocacy. The final session explores impactful career pathways at the AI/animals frontier.
The specialisation block (weeks 7–8) gives you the chance to go deeper in one of three tracks:
Builder — specialised classes on code and no-code tools, with practical implementations
Researcher — writing, policy design, and strategies for influence
Career-Developer — pathways for working with governments, NGOs, and industry actors
(Fellows will choose one track as their focus but may also audit classes across the other tracks.)
The project block (weeks 9–12) transitions participants from learners to doers. Over this sprint, fellows prepare a final piece of work that draws on their learning — a concrete contribution to animal protection. To support their research and development, fellows will have access to powerful AI platforms tailored for non-profits, and will receive personalised mentorship from leading professionals across academia, industry, and advocacy.
Futurekind is a selective course. There is no ideal Futurekind Fellow. What we are looking for above all is not necessarily over-sized technical or academic skillsets (though we welcome those!) but a commitment to impact and a curiosity about innovation. We get around ten applicants for every place and aim to upskill 500 fellows this year alone. So completing and reflecting on the Fundamentals mini-fellowship is a great starting point for standing out from the crowd.
