We are Electric Sheep. Our mission is to inspire advocates and coders to learn about, direct and deploy positive, impactful AI - by which we mean AI that's both safe and for maximal positive impact for our planet, its ecosystems, and all its sentient beings. Our learners' projects cluster around key impact areas including animal welfare, health and AI safety.

Our community is our focus. We upskill learners in safe AI, its deployment and development and enable impact-driven AI problem-solving by crack coding teams. We curate impact- focussed in-person coding experiences and impact challenges around particular high impact areas such as farmed animal protection, and bring impact-first, safety-oriented AI products to market. We believe we are the first community of its kind, a practical positive AI community, pro tech, pro planet, and pro sentient life.






We don't just do theory (although we're not scared to go deep) - we offer entry- and intermediate- level online introductory courses, in-person coding events all over the world and bootcamp and venture support to turn collaborative ideas into practical action.

Our pilot online FutureKind course happened in 2024 and was followed by our first Bay Area Code for Compassion event, where 81 coders developed 16 animal advocacy AI prototypes. We also conducted research seminars in sentience studies with key global academics in the field.

Since then we've been developing our work with a focus on our core values of being accessible so that all can find their appropriate place in positive AI, innovative and driven to enable learners not just to theorise but build practical solutions that ensure current and future AI is as maximally positive impact-focussed as it can be.






Our imminent future programs include an impact investment- focussed incubator program for fellows and coders to off ramp and develop their prototypes to enterprise level applications, a university-based Advanced Impact Researcher Community (AIR Community) program for researchers in the positive AI space, and an AI safety focussed positive AI innovations incubator. Electric Sheep was founded by author, think tanker and Edtech entrepreneur Ash Singh and AI academic Jay Luong in 2024 in Berlin to connect top technologists from the Bay Area and beyond with impact advocates all over the world.

Bonded by a mutual interest in developing safe frontier AI that maximises planetary welfare, we sought to build a new kind of practical learning community.
